The Kent County Sheriff’s Department is dedicated to providing the community with safety and security, while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and upholding the State and Federal laws. The Kent County jail system is composed of a main correctional facility and the Community Reentry Center. The employees of the facilities hold inmates responsible for their behavior, while providing fair and humane treatment. The main facility is accommodated to house nearly 1,100 inmates under direct and indirect supervision. The Kent County Sheriff’s Department employs more than 210 Correctional Deputies to aid the correctional facilities with a safe and secure environment, while preparing inmates for a successful release.
