Under the leadership of Sheriff Anthony M. Wickersham, the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office houses over 1,200 inmates awaiting trial and prisoners sentenced to one year or less. In order to provide inmates with a safe environment for the duration of their incarceration, the Macomb County jail is fully staffed with Corrections Officers, Deputy Sheriff’s, Sheriff Command Officers, and numerous support staff and volunteers. The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office provides inmates with multiple programs and services to teach inmates the essential life skills needed prior to release in order to decrease recidivism. A few of the programs offered include counseling services and work release programs. For convenience, the jail facility offers an online inmate locator to provide general information about an inmate’s arrest.
