St. Francis County Detention and Dispatch Center is under the supervision of Lt. Jonnie Jones, Jail Administrator. The detention center is a long term holding facility. It was designed to house 120 inmates. The jail can house 8 females, 6 felony juvenile males as well as 100 adult males. The jail holds Arkansas State prison inmates that are waiting on bed space, as well as Federal Inmates waiting extradition to different states. The detention facility participates in the ACT 309 program. This is a program where inmates from the Arkansas Department of Corrections that are held at the facility assist in maintenance of the jail, cooking, gardening and laundry. The Detention facility participates in a work release program, which allows misdemeanor charged inmates, to work off their fines by cleaning roadways in the county.
