Headed by Sheriff Richard K. Jones, the Butler County Sheriff’s Office believes inmates should pay their debt to society by working it off during incarceration. The main Butler County jail opened its doors in 2002, providing direct supervision and maximum security over inmates. On average, there are over 920 inmates present daily in the main correctional facility. The second correctional facility, the Butler County Correctional Complex, offers minimum security with direct supervision. With dorm style housing units, approximately 40 inmates are placed into each dorm. The Butler County Sheriff’s Office requires inmates in both facilities to work during the duration of their incarceration in order to save tax payers money, while paying off their dept to society. The Butler County jail inmates’ information can be found online via the Jail Roster.
