about

The Livingston County Jail is housed within the sheriff’s office at 901 Webster Street, Chillicothe, Missouri. The current Livingston County Jail opened in 1978 under Sheriff Leland O’Dell and closed December 31, 2012 due to a variety of expensive and needed repairs that are currently unable to be funded by Livingston County government. The Livingston County Jail was a 48-bed facility. We have a total of 10 cell areas, 2 of which were strictly used to house female detainees. We have 1 padded cell which for high risk detainees who need additional supervision. We have 2 maximum security cell areas which can hold a total of 4 men in a more restrictive setting.
